Now that I have cleared the IVA hurdle I really must decide what colour to paint my Cabrio, and what type of paint to use.
Starting with the type first, my current preference is to go with two pack acrylic. I know these are being phased out due to being isocyanate based, but my experience of modern water based paint is that they scratch very easily, and cellulose based are getting rare, and do not maintain their shine for long. Two pack seems to be much more durable.
Does anyone have any views/experience to share?
Regarding colour, I have a half baked idea to use a tri-pack, with a Candy coat over a base coat, topped with a clear coat, to create a Red over Black. I think these look good, but my concern is, will it suit a Cabrio style car?
Does anyone have any experience of these paints? (I don't plan to paint it myself, so can consider a this type of paint job - subject to cost of course!)
