  • Trials in a Berlinetta ?

The Roadster is a popular trials vehicle but what about the Berlinetta ?
Personally I'm not thinking about competition but more like gentle greenlining. Is it too big / heavy, Cortina mechanicals not suitable etc ?

    Cheers.

I don't believe a single Berlinetta has been trialled, the man to ask is the author of www.Wheelspin.info AndrewKB on this forum.

    1984 Marlin Roadster SWB.
1800TC, Unleaded ported head, stage 2 cam. Ford Type 9 gearbox, Dolomite Sprint rear axle fitted with MGF disc brakes.
Three core radiator, Renault Clio vented front discs.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Loads of Marlin Reference can be found documents here or there.

I do not know of a Berly that has been trialled. Wheelbase, etc ,etc all wrong (my personal opinion) However if I remember correctly Robert (from Cumbria) had that in mind ? A standard build Berly is not blessed with a lot of ground clearance and many have had trouble with speed humps ,etc, in normal road use. Of course anything can be modified but I believe it is fair to describe the Berly as a ( touring car)
