My son bought me a mechanics creeper - best present I never asked for:so easy to slide under the car when its on stands. I literally wore the wheels off it building my Cabrio.

If you have the height underneath the car. Make a wedge to raise your shoulders and support your head. Just make sure your stands are solid.

found some old pictures of my original Alfa-Marlin during rebuild in 1984 - looks like my 'new' one will end up being a 'bare' chassis rebuild and fit a triumph bulkhead to fit the Alfa engine in a better position..

Can't say its aesthetic! Cooling requires airflow, unless it was a desperate attempt to feed an oil cooler with air at the expense of the water radiator?

Bit more work today - managed to get the 'modified' rear end off the car, like the front end mod cannot understand the rear end one... Petrol tank held in by 2 bolts !!

Any idea what its off ??

                          Tank is Escort van/estate mk1-2.
Look like you are missing a cross-brace which the trailing edge of the tank would bolt to.

The instructions say you will need a piece of 25mm angle to support the tank.

Also on my tank it is at the back not the front like yours

Deffo an Escort tank. If you get the chance mount it from underneath! Saves removing the rest tub to get it out if it starts leaking.
