  • front suspension

    Hi
I am currently repairing my Marina based Marlin after an accident to the front near side and I was
wondering if somebody would be good enough to give me some advice on setting up the front suspension, ie torsion bar, arm heights etc.
Should the torsion bar be set different with the car being lighter?
How do you set the camber angle correctly?

    Re: front suspension

If you post your e-mail address I can send you an extract from the build manual that gives this info. It is only relevant for cars after chassis no 2816.

        Re: front suspension

Got the email thanks very much that will help when it says "set torsion bars initially in free state" does that mean with nothing attached ie no upright, disc etc?

I don't know but I would guess that it is with nothing attached

Ouch! Poor Marlin! Of course you were swerving out of the way of a sheep at the time???

                  Re: front suspension

                  Yes you could say???
Although it is a credit to the solid construction of the Marlin, a modern car would have been written off,
While I'm rebuilding this is there any other information about the suspension I should know? ie tracking, distance between front and back wheels, rear suspension etc.
I need to check that nothing else has been damaged. I have checked the chassis using laser and everthing is straight.
                  Thanks

                      Hi Hugh
No I don't have a build manual and I would be grateful if you could help. It was very good of Roger to email me some details.

I have copied my build manual to .pdf format and put it on a CD. If anyone else wants a copy let me know.
