Understand your concerns re exposing the internal fibre-glass but I reckon if you then sprayed/painted the inside of the hole with clear lacquer you should be able to avoid that?

liquid super glue, for its penetrating benefits? I use it to seal fibres etc in holes around prop shafts/rudders on model boats, haven't had probs over the last 20 years!

The hood for this car had disintegrated over time, and the side screens are complete but rotten
Prior to painting I had filled in the holes in the tub for the hood buttons.
I have had used LWB hood in stock for a while, so thought I'd try fitting it, result !

OK so the sidescreens I don't have won't fit, but back in 2010 I made some from f/glass for Q249.
When the car was sold the new owner did not want them, so just dust them off and it's playtime again.

A project's only finished when it's finished - and I really must get round to painting the bonnet

Cancel the screens idea, I was just filling the workshop with fine white dust ! Ok, so no side screens.

Todays pics of finished car - it just needs :
    Brake re-bleed
    Carburettors balancing/adjusting
    Seat backs upholstering
    Side screens
Driving and "shake down" bedding in after so long on stilts
    MoT
.................and then for sale. Maybe a little T cutting too

    Currently it owes me 2750.
