  • Postponed jobs

While I change out the rear axle bearings I noticed some play in the rear UJ on the propshaft so that was pulled out and changed (easy when fitted with cir-clips).
I had also noticed play in the steering rack and to my considerable surprise found a new old stock Marina rack on ebay which fitted very easily. I just need the rain to stop when I am at home to see what difference this has made.....

Excess play in a steering rack could be caused by a failed bush. Even so called refurbished racks have been recorded as failing in the same way within months.

Will strip the old rack and take a look at it.
Happily having cycle wings makes a rack swap a less than 2 hour job.
