Hood frame mount

Does anyone know what Marlin used for the hood frame mounting socket on the rear tub or was it a fabricated part?

Hi Jon, this is a fabricated part. Piece of tube welded to a diagonal shaped piece of flat ( the flat has a fixing hole each end) Back in the day a lot of us had these made in stainless and polished. Then we started making stainless folding hood frames ( A drawing for the frame is in Technical tips ) Later YKC produced a foldimg hood frame and a (hinged ) rear luggage rack.

Thanks, Danny. Yes, I am intending to make the folding frame but my car has a crude fixed hinge so I will need to get the mounts made up as well.
