  • Spanish MOT.

The Spanish ITV (MOT) has just been done on one of my cars. In Spain the ITV is contracted out, they do not repair cars, only inspect.
They test on a conveyor belt system, you stay in your car as it moves from station to station.
The final check is the suspension/steering which they do from an inspection pit. Whilst you are in the car. A TV screen alongside shows a picture of what the inspector is looking at. I believe a copy of the video is available if your car fails, so you can take it to a repairer.
Seems like a good idea, but the test is a lot less strenuous than the UK.

    Re: Spanish MOT.

Almost the same here a la frog, no conveyor or video, just invited to accompany the tester on his inspection, he points out problems which in the uk would be noted as advisories but here not, its a little frightening as the test is only reqd every 2 years!!
