My seats are the original 1980s jobs and they are getting uncomfortable. About 8 years ago I swapped my seat base for the passenger's to get a more comfortable ride but now I fear they are both in need of change. I did a 160 mile round trip the other day and at the end of it I had a sore arse! Does anyone know about the quality of material for DIY foam replacement?

Hi Franklin,
We recently had our dining chairs reupholstered for the same reason i.e they had lost their shape. At the same time we asked the guy to put in some thicker harder foam to effectively increase the height of the chairs. I would have thought if you go and have a chat with a reupholsterer he would be able to tell you what foam to use and because you don't need much he may well be able to supply you with some.
