  • Is there anybody out there

As a new member having just joined am wondering why the forum seems to be so little used.

    I would 1/like to buy a car
2/make contact with other like minded people
3 Find activities I can support or join in on
OK so I live in West Wales not the most populated part of the British Isles
but its full of enthusiastic patriotic people so lets hear from some of you soon

Re: Is there anybody out there

    Welcome

1 : What type of Marlin are you looking for ? Did you get contact from David Spolton ? Have you talked to Danny Nelson ?

2 : You've done that by joining and posting on here

3 : Wrong time of year for this however there are still several social get togethers, not necessarily going in our Marlin cars

As to your "why is the website so little used" question I don't know the answer.

Depends on people to post and if they don't then there's not a lot we can do, likewise with the content for Pitstop magazine

What do you think we are missing ?

Re: Is there anybody out there

Contacted David Spolton who has been away now waiting for return call
Yes contacted Danny who is getting back to me
Am in the process of finding Welsh owners
Seems to me website /forum may be needs a little banter to create comments
A little controversy seems to get people chatting

Re: Is there anybody out there

        I'm in mid Wales!
The forum goes in fits and starts and has many more readers than contributors, eg 15 have read this thread so far. Some if the build diaries have several thousand views. The site and forum is read by loads each month, last time I looked we had around 10000 visitors a month. Many are classic car buffs and other kit car friends looking for info
But yes ultimately it relies on people posting and starting threads.
Welcomed onboard and good luck with getting a car

          Welcome Burnside,
I am in Cornwall so again not many owners down here.
I think the website is what you make it, it does make some interesting reading and also some very helpfull owners with a wealth of knowledge on here.
I have been on a rebuild for the last 12 months and use this forum regularly with updates and questions.
Like AdminUser said each thread does get a lot of hits with the usual contributors giving some very helpful advice and ideas.
I have the main forum page saved so I can see anything new posted daily.
Keep us updated with your hunt for a purchase as I am sure others will let you know of Marlins for sale, good luck.
          Cheers from Cornwall.

            Ditto what Martin says.

Some times its good to chew the cud and this is the place to do it.

Hope you find a Marlin soon.

The Web site is what we as members make of it.

I must admit I like to read about builds and small projects myself.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, in the main we are a friendly bunch.

            regards

            Adrian

Re: Is there anybody out there

As for some banter, we all like a bit (wahay) and there are occasions but as many others I am a member of other forums (Vw T5) of which I have noticed that some people have taken comments the wrong way and some threads have turned, you don’t seem to get that on here, not any that I have witnessed anyway, it may be because it is closely monitored by the admin and moderators.

Check out the Trials car on ebay forum. There's a project to keep you busy for the winter. Lovely part of the world Pembroke I worked on a pipeline round Haverford West many years ago.

I still prefer the Trialer project .
