Anyone know what this means in terms of exemption/compliance?

My MOT is due before 31 March!!
Your MOT test will be based on the age of the engine.
You could be asked to prove it....... If so, it’s worth getting a letter from BMW UK confirming the year of manufacture for your engine serial number.
You should have no problems passing the emissions test if your engine remains in good condition.

      Re: New mot emissions

      Thanks folks

The E34 M20 B25 engine was only made from 1985 to 1992, and I have the old registration document and service records to show the donor engine was a BMW 525i first registered in 1988

Engine number on the registration document

This afternoon I located a local MOT station who's owner understood the regulations and the kit car issue, ( after trying and rejecting two others who I sensed were bluffing and would just cause problems down the line once a fail was produced from setting the equipment to the wrong target values)

So it is now going in on Saturday morning and I can be present to watch and wait.

I will feed back the outcome!
