  • Windscreen surround .. paint recommendations ?

    Hi all,
My windscreen surround has taken a bit of a battering over the years and desperately needs a repaint. Would love to hear from those of you that have done the job recently and can recommend a paint spray, primer , lacquer etc. That's tough enough for the job. As I have detachable side screens the surround gets a lot of abuse.

    I've looked at.
    Hamerite spray
    Rustoleum
    Halfords silver enamel
Various paints designed for alloy wheels etc.

And still haven't made up my mind ... has anyone brush painted it, I guess with the right preparation and primer topcoat you might be able to get away with it ?

Ps. A darker silver colour is preferred.

I used Hammerite about 10 years ago. It needs doing again but it is cheap and easy.

An alternative idea, not paint, was a polished stainless fabrication to add a ‘bling’ factor.
