  • BENTLEY,s visiting

    G'Day All
While out for a run yesterday I ran across some very early BENTLEYS that were on a North American tour.
They were from the land down under ! The Marlin looks like a mini Bentley

That is quite a good looking car. Shame it doesn’t have the suspension, brakes, reliability, fuel consumption, comfort of a proper car. Lovely looking Marlin.

        Fully agree Paul !

When chatting to the owner of the Bentley special below, the owner had a lot of compliments for the Marlin & freely admitted his Bentley was actually a kit car too !

I'll find out as I know the owner. As far as I know it was a Bentley saloon..

That would be good thanks. The suspension looks old school but then the coil springs could put it at about mid 50s?

Just to be a bit pedantic is it not a special rather than a kit car. There were quite a few post war Bentley specials some better looking than others.

there was a Bentley style kit which used a Sherpa chassis can't remember exactly when, 80's/90's?

Been looking through Google and there was a Mk V Bentley in 1941 with coil springs. Had the same gigantic headlights too!
