Already had snow? I wonder if we will down here this year. Mine is all tucked up in the garage, probably still be this time next year.

        Re: First Winter

        Hi

I used one with my old motor and it dulled the paintwork.

Not that there is much paint to dull at the moment.

I have always left my car out uncovered since then.

Doesn't seem to do any harm.

Thanks for the thought though .

        Regards

        Adrian

I have a couple of classics under cover for several years no issues - they have improved and have a thin fleece lining now. But each to their own approach

              Again mmmmm

              On their website they state

              • Do not use on a vehicle that has been re-sprayed using inferior equipment or one that is made of fibreglass or carbon fibre

              Why? Who knows?

Probably worried about getting too hot - not usually a problem in the UK

                  Re: First Winter

I put a cover over my Roadster whilst making up my mind about keeping it. I put an old sheet over the bodywork first and then put a Plastic type sheet over and tied down securely. I found on the front wing which caught most of the sun that there was a slight imprint of the sheet material in the paintwork, nothing much, but definetly something. I then used a soft lined cover for the rest of the time. David.

                      Re: First Winter

I viewed a Cabrio that had been kept outside under a cover and the paint had microblisters where the cover had been in contact with the body. On the other side of the coin I have owned fibreglass sailing dinghys that have been left outside under a cover with no ill effects. BUT, the difference is one is painted and the latter is colour impregnated into the gel coat.
I'd avoid in the case of the former.

Just shows nothings ever straight forward as it seems - I declared myself lucky not to have suffered nd damage on Marlin or MG (which I suspect are both painted with 2pack epoxy - tougheer than Vinnie Jones)

                          Re: First Winter

                          Thanks everyone for your input.

I think I will not bother with a cover as she will be used most weeks from now on.

Hope to see some, if not all, of you around in the coming year.

                          Regards
