    Re: Stoneleigh

If this image transfers ok to the website it shows last years MOC pitch and this years proposed pitch which is considerably smaller. Also shown is the location of the Westfield Slalom. From memory there is also a funfair in the main ring next door to the proposed pitch location, which will also add to the noise. I doubt if the Westfield Slalom will want to forgo any income lost if they stop for our AGM!

Thanks guys as I'll be able to find my way now! Re: site plans.

Will it be all that bad in reality? Yes, a 40%ish reduction in ground but there's no trees to drop seeds into the car (unlike last year), the lack of trees will probably aid parking layout/space, it is located nearer the hub of activity and can only raise the marques profile, there's less distance to the car boot etc.
There are buildings between the new site and the Westfield slalom so this may help with reducing the noise a bit...

I'm probably not as familiar with the site and/or space issues as others in the club, so forgive me if I haven't grasped the enormity of the problem but personally, I'm looking forward to it

Er, they lock up the halls after the public leave in the evening. Open again at about 0730 in the morning.
The farm shop restaurant is open during the evening.
I'm still not sure whether I want to set up camp in that busy place though.

With only half the area as last year and a marquee on it plus the hoped for numbers of cars attending I can’t see there being room for tents?

Yup. Your plan to stay in a hotel is looking attractive but:
                      a. My co driver wouldn't be allowed to stay (Buddy)
                      b. we will have to travel early to make it to the stand each day due to the normal mellee on the main drag.
Just have to camp on the wooded camp site and hope the cars are safe on the stand.

You cant zoom in on this drawing but I have a feeling the camping area may
also be in the planned area for the HS2 cutting.

                        Try Google HS2 Stoneleigh Park

Double drat. I hadn't nb'd that. I'm sure that the organisers have it sorted.
HS2 😫let's hope the white elephants have wheels.

Another thought. If I remember correctly there is a vehicle barrier across the main drag beyond the Westfield slalom area to stop vehicle movements during the show due to the large amount of pedestrians? If so, what is the cut off time for our members cars to arrive?

Alternatively is there access to this year’s club pitch 63 from behind. That is from avenue K next to the funfair. Are there any raised kerbs or banks preventing this option?
