  • Spiyda Gauge Matcher v4

Well that's got to be the best 30mins I have spent fitting a device to make my Marina Fuel Gauge work with the escort sender.

I used it setting up the resistance figures given to me from the Escort Club -

    75 ohms Empty
    50 ohms 1/4 full
    25 ohms 1/2 full
    17 ohms 3/4 full
    10 ohms Full

Not cheap, £50 but works a treat and it now reads empty, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full correctly.

    I would definately recommend.

Will work on any gauge and any sender, whatever the make.

    Regards

    Adrian

That’s a result, how long as that device been hiding on someone’s shelves!

They appear to sell a lot and this is the upgraded v4.

      All I know it works.

        Re: Spiyda Gauge Matcher v4

I've got one fitted to Brum. It is ideal for her as the Alfa fuel gauge fitted works in reverse to the Escort sender, with 0 ohms being empty.
I drained the tank then refilled a quarter tank at a time taking note of the resistance readings.
        0 - 75 ohms
        1/4 - 45 ohms
        1/2 - 27 ohms
        3/4 - 20 ohms
        4/4 - 10 ohms

Pretty close to what you were told.

Knew I was teaching others to suck eggs but sometimes it's the obvious that gets overlooked.

Glad it does what it says on the box.

Next on the list is to get the tachometer working again.

I went accuspark and meant that the RVI stopped working.

This device, from the same guys, will convert my original dial to RVC.

I will let you know how I get on.

Smiths RVI - RVC Tachometer conversion board + calibration cable -566-

Just a reminder, I cut out the Ford sender and soldered in a Marina sender. A bit of jiggling to get the float swing right and I now have a full scale fuel gauge.

Todays job completed I. e. Fitted the tachometer RVI to RVC converter from Spiyda.

Great bit of kit and works spot on.

Think I will leave it there for now and just enjoy the car.

Would recommend Spiyda products to anyone.
