  • 3 Core Viva Radiator Wanted.

Hello does anybody have a 3 Core Viva Radiator for sale or can anybody supply me any with information as to where I might get mine re-cored. It for my rebuilt 1.8 TC SWB Roaster that I'm refurbishing after 20years off the road.

    Cheers
    Mick.

I bought a recored rad from Boston Motorcool. 01205 355016 [email protected]. Perhaps worth giving them a call.

They are also on eBay as Cooling Solutions if you want to look at their work.

No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

My Viva rad was re-cored by Sheldrake & Wells in Ipswich about 24 years ago and, as far as I know, is still working fine.

The other option is fitting a honda civic rad from about 1993 -2000 models good for up to 160 bhp if you read the model list. when I last looked standard rad was about £35-£40 alloy rad with fan about £75- £90 plus sorting the hoses. On a 1700 marina engine you will need to to fit the fan in front of the rad, I don't know about the 1800 engine fit. I hope this helps, there are photo's in the build section.

            Cheers Phil

Lots of places, but sometimes hard to find. The best ones in my experience do classic car ones, that might help.

Mine had a four core Chevette radiator, similar layout to the Viva one. Had it re-cored By Hornet radiators in Watford, but they are long gone now.

Thank you all for your responses to my request I now have lots of food for thought. I have looked on the net and found the Honda Civic Radiator and it looks the business. I've just got to convince myself that it will suites my needs before jumping in to buy one however you have to start somewhere, I it can't think it will be any worse than mine. Thanks All.

I'm fitting a 4 row version to mine and I will say that it's a tight fit so with hindsight I would probably go with the 3 row version. In terms of cost it would probably be cheaper to get your existing radiator re-cored if cost is a factor

Coolex in Nottingham were very helpful and knowledgeable when we needed one for Bluebelle.

With the Pinto engine installed how much clearance is there between the steering rack and the front of the engine?
