  • Wheel Centre Caps

I have just put some blue wheel centre cap badges on this weekend. They came from eBay (search MARLIN Resin 3D Gel Badge)

One of the front caps is a bit loose and I am keen to find a replacement.

The silver eBay ones don't fit (I tried a while back).

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a supplier?

The ones I have are black plastic with "KN" on the front. 50.5mm grip width and 4.5mm grip depth.

Oh, and can anyone confirm the correct name of the diamond wheels please?

    Hi, try https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KN-80s-55...sAAOSwfKpfMXT6

The wheels are just called KN Diamond. I have these wheels, but with a different offset. I am always looking for these with an offset like the ones shown. Do you happen to know what the offset is?

Thanks Derek, I will take a look.

The offset is 30mm on my wheels.

Surely this is a problem for the ebay seller to resolve?

          Hi Steve, you mis-understand.

The badges are great, they have self-adhesive backing and are stuck onto the black plastic KN wheel centres.

It is the original black KN wheel centres (30+ years old) which are loose and require replacement.

I'm hoping someone has found a suitable replacement.

I took a punt and bought a set. I'll let you know how they fit.

                          Re: Wheel Centre Caps

Ok so I tried to fit one last night and they fit the wheel fine but they foul the bearing cover on the front wheel because the tangs are thicker than the original. I think a bit of fettling with the Dremel should sort it but I didn't have time yesterday as we were re-working the air box...

                            Thanks for the update Andy.

I'll place an order (I too have a Dremel)

                              Re: Wheel Centre Caps

Finally got round to fitting the centre caps last night.

                              wheel2a.jpg

I found that they fitted the hole OK but the legs were not quite long enough to grip the inside of the wheel itself.

I "extended" the legs to about 4.5mm by removing the face of the clip part (see arrow) with the dremel, now they clip on nicely.

                              wheel 4.jpg

I'm thinking silver would look better, so will spray them when I get the chance.
