  • New turn signal stems

    Hi.
Today I found some time to write this post but work was done about a week ago. My old Lucas front turn signals were loosing chrome in flakes so two years ago (or was it three?) were replaced with new ones. Supposedly these were all metal with chrome finish but the lamp proved to be good quality plastic but stems…
The stems were made of steel and the single chrome layer has gone. I called a guy that is making stainless steel fences in my area and asked him for help. Two kind of stainless tubing were used - 14 and 10 mm diameter. The bigger was polished and cut to desired length. And the smaller one was 40 mm longer and threaded on both ends. Two of each size plus four nuts and washers and I’m happy again with my turn signals.
I was really impressed by this man. He was working with stainless steel as if it were bras. Proper tools and experience is gold.

I guess there are many Marlins with these, my Hunter had the same units, with the same problem.
