  • So I thought I might still have one more project in me..........

.....and I looked elsewhere for a change after rebuilding several Roadsters and running a Hunter
    for some time.

Deep in the wilds of North Wales, and a long way up a very narrow farm track on the side of a
mountain I found this nearly abandoned Jago which had languished outside since about 1995.

    Am I certifiable ?

It's now in North Lincs and has been slowly drying out

Chassis looks sound. If a little basic. Jago must have liked their box section tubing!

In answer to your original question - the jury's still out! Looking forward to seeing it on the 10th and of course yourselves. Good work Buddy.

You wanted a project and you have certainly got one!! Look forward to seeing it with shiny wheels and big knobbly tyres. Best of luck.

Re: So I thought I might still have one more project in me..........

Just to keep this thread alive, I have now obtained two good used front struts, which are in a clean/derust/paint queue
              along with other items

Today from the pile of parts I sorted out two scrap wheels/tyres which would hold air, in order to be able to "wheelbarrow"
the chassis when it gets back from welding.

The wheels were difficult to get onto the studs on the back axle, so I looked more closely, to find that they were obviously
              100pcd and drilled/filed to fit 108 pcd studs - amazing !

So, having sorted the front struts, I'm now after a set of 5 wheels !

EDIT : Thanks to that well known auction site I now have five wheels to repaint and am saving up for new tyres !

Well done DC ! Am loving the picture of bare chassis with the precision engineering tool to one side .. aka lump hammer !

Looking forward to seeing more pics. .. best regards .

                    Thanks Richard.

If you look on the Jago OC website there's a thread entitled Q874 WRX project

.....but I'll put more pics up on here soon

It's finally getting bigger again, rebuilt and part painted chassis, here's a current pic .

I've just decided that the fuel tank is too far gone to save. Would you believe it's the
Escort Van tank, same as in Marina based Roadsters, so if anyone has or knows the
whereabouts of one, please let me know.

                      Thanks DC

They are about as rare as rocking horse poo! I gave up looking and had a tank fabricated. Not so expensive as you might think.
                        Cheers Robin

That's my feeling too Robin. No rush so I'll keep looking and also perhaps think about others ie MG Midget etc etc.

If all fails, then it will have to be fabricated

Gentlemen I advertised Escort van/ estate mk11 tanks on here several times. There is a cost to them because of my storage costs , and they are not new but in very good condition £100 Danny.

I’ve got one in the attic of my garage in the UK.
I am not planning to fly back anytime soon, but there’s a real treasure trove up there.
