  • B Series Engine Oil Cooler

Has anyone fitted an oil cooler to their B series engined Roadster and if so was it beneficial?
The engine I am fitting is tuned to stage 2 and I am wondering if an oil cooler may be worthwhile. Fairly cheap and easy at this stage of the build...

    Cheers Robin.

Believe it was standard fit on MGB so why not !

I'm not sure one is needed on a Roadster; whilst it was fitted to the MGB IIRC it wasn't fitted to the Marina TC.
If you do decide to fit one make sure you also include a thermostatic valve so it only cuts in if/when actually needed.

Thanks for the answers. My thinking behind the question was:
The engine bay on the Roadster is pretty compact. Anything that helps dissipate heat must be a good thing.
My engine is tuned = more heat. On the other hand so is the one in Lil Red Rooster and I guess you don't have overhating problems.
And yes I believe it was fitted to the MGB as standard.
        Cheers Robin

My B-Series engine in a roadster had an oil cooler, but the pipes were all perished so I took it off, made absolutely no difference.
