Don't forget a filter mesh on the pickup to sieve out any crap from the tank.

Liberal amounts of JB Weld (that stuff is unbelievable) and a test tomorrow.

          Fingers crossed.

            Re: Escort fuel gauge

As always I have better ideas later and here we are version 2.

First of all I was never happy with the Ford isolation for the sender as it just used a fibre washer between the connector and earth.

So I took the one from the Smiths gauge and cut a thread on it pushed it through same hole and affixed with a bolt, much better

Next was the rethink, as you can see from the picture below, I decided to JB Weld the Smiths sender to the original Ford pipe and then cut off the Smiths float arm and solder the original Ford float arm to it. Basically now, it is the Ford unit with the Smiths sender carefully grafted onto it.

I hope this makes sense, now to test.

And a close up of the graft

Well my rudimentary dip stick (a stick with marks on it) says 1/4 full as does the fuel gauge.

I need to get cracking on a few jobs on mine but I’m suffering from post Covid dug at the moment. Well done, what’s next on it?

Find out why the Hill Assist turns itself off when I switch the lights on, on my Alfa 159

Oh, you mean the Marlin, nothing except drive it.
